I thought I was the only one with this problem. The first time me and my wife slept in the same bed I could not fall asleep with her in it.
I tried and tried.
The crazy part was that sleeping pills didn’t really help that much. Sure I did get more sleep but not like what I get when I’m by myself.
Everyone says you got to give it some time to get use to it. Then after awhile you’ll get to the point where you can’t sleep unless you have someone in bed with you.
But that kind of sucks to wait to get to that point. So I came up with some ways that help me so much more. Don’t let this stop you from getting the sleep you need when you have someone in your bed.
Here are the things that made a world of difference for me and my wife to get better sleep and get over this problem of sleeping with someone new in your bed.
- Use two comforter. We were simply fighting over the comforter because we’re both use to having our own one. So it only made sense to have a comforter for each of us.
- Place a long pillow between each other. I had some weird fear that I would hurt her. I’m a big guy and I will twitch at night. So I placed a big soft pillow between us. It was more of a piece of mind thing and really calmed my nerves.
- Turn the TV off. We both like to go to sleep with the TV on with a light volume. Well, I like no volume and she likes little volume. It may seem like we both like the same thing but really we like the same thing but different. So it was just better to turn the TV off completely.
Hopefully these little tips can help you sleep better with your new wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, or whatever. No need to loose sleep because you’re not use to someone else in your bed.
I’ll tell you the two bed comforters really is worth it. Why is don’t more people do this?
