Sleep is a vital part of our daily lives, and sometimes it can feel like we don’t get enough of it. We now live in a world where it has become so much easier to track our sleep that everyone should be doing it. We track our budgets, our health, and even what we eat so would it be odd to track our sleep?

Tracking our sleep can tell us so many things about ourselves, like if we consume too much caffeine or if it’s time for a new mattress. There are many ways to see how you sleep, you can do a sleep study and of course, always consult your doctor.

Why Track Your Sleep

Everyone’s reasons will be different, but the result is the same – get a better nights rest. One important reason has got to be able to see if your mattress is what keeps you awake at night. Or to see if you drink too much coffee or even beer and how it affects your different levels of sleep stages.

Maybe you noticed that every night you wake up without realizing it due to a neighbor coming home, and their headlights come through your window and wake you out of deep sleep, and a simple sleep mask like this one could help solve that issue.

I was surprised by all the data the Fitbit collected on me. I was overeating and consuming way too much caffeine. I could see when I made changes to my diet and eating less caffeine I was getting better sleep. Without the Charge 2, I would have no clue.

After playing around with my diet I knew it wasn’t my mattress which is great because it’s cheaper to change diets than to buy a new mattress. But if nothing changed then that would lead me closer to the idea that it could be my mattress.
